Examples of Western-looking people incorporated into African art can be found in The Mlungu in Africa, by Michael Stevenson and Michael Graham-Stewart, 2003. Numbers 25, 51 and 57 all show Western-looking men riding horses in a similar manner to the figure found on the door.
